Baylor University’s School of Business
Serves Belizean Entrepreneurs

It is with great joy that we share the highlights of an unforgettable week of service, learning, and cross cultural collaboration. From May 25th to 30th, nine students and three faculty members from Baylor University’s School of Business journeyed to Belize for a transformative micro enterprise mission.

Over the course of the week, the Baylor team worked hand in hand with six Belizean entrepreneurs, representing communities from across the country. Hosted by The Belize Project, the group engaged in a robust series of business development workshops held in Corozal, where ideas were shared, strategies refined, and meaningful mentorship took place.

Each day was a blend of instruction and reflection. The evenings were marked by reflection of the entrepreneurs who shared their experiences navigating the Belizean business landscape. These interactions enriched the students’ learning and inspired all involved.

Midweek, the group took a powerful excursion to the ancient Mayan site of Lamanai, traveling by riverboat and exploring the rich historical and cultural heritage of Belize. Later, they toured the renowned Marie Sharp’s Fine Foods facility to learn firsthand about Belizean entrepreneurship on a global scale.

The journey continued to Hopkins Village, a vibrant coastal community known for its Garifuna heritage, where the team shared a meal and spent time in personal reflection by the sea, cementing the bonds built over the week.

The trip culminated in Belmopan with a visit to a barbershop owned by one of the featured entrepreneurs, evidence of the real life impact of initiatives like these.

From the north to the south of Belize, this experience left a lasting imprint on both the visitors and hosts. It was a week marked by humility, insight, and hope as future global business leaders walked alongside Belizean entrepreneurs with hearts and minds open.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Baylor University for their continued partnership, and to the entrepreneurs who welcomed them with trust and vision. Together, we are building bridges of opportunity.

Covenant Presbyterian Church’s 2025 Mission to Belize

This year, 105 members of Covenant Presbyterian Church stepped out in faith and traveled to Belize to serve and what a joy-filled, Spirit-led week it was.

At Chan Chen Government School, hands met hard work and hearts met one another. From mixing cement to sharing stories and laughter in the classroom, relationships were deepened and Christ’s love was made tangible.

A highlight of the week was our Community Day, an outpouring of generosity and care for Chan Chen and neighboring villages. Guests were prayed over, received eye exams and free glasses, shopped for gently used clothes and jewelry for just $0.25, and enjoyed sweet treats and warm fellowship.

Covenant’s visit left more than projects completed, it left hearts encouraged, lives touched, and the name of Jesus lifted high. We give thanks for this beautiful time together, and we invite you to consider joining us in the future.
